    I hope it's better than OpenDNS. I like OpenDNS, but I hate pinging a URL that does not exist and getting a response from an OpenDNS ad server.

    Here is something from the instructions page if there was any doubt that Google is brave:

    Google Public DNS telephone support
    • 877-590-4367 in the U.S.
    • 770-200-1201 outside the U.S.

      I wonder what the angle is... I mean, this doesn't sound like a service where there is room for profit... Could it be used in the future to gain beter insights in site linkage and use it to optimiz the page rank? Or to better direct traffic as they see fit?

        It's another part of the construction of Google Internet. To go with their worldwide data centers and undersea cables.
