2 new fantasy series at HBO

Both to be written by former X-Files and Millennium writer Frank Spotnitz

The World Inside: based on the 1971 novel by Robert Silverberg , depicts Earth in the year 2381 when the world’s population has risen to 75 billion and people live in 1,000-story buildings that house 800,000.

Humanitas: a medical thriller set in the nearer future, depicts the perils of genetic manipulation and the threat of a deadly pandemic.

He's also writing a third series called Arc, which is based on the life of a real covert ops spook.

Don't forget that HBO is casting for a pilot episode of George R.R. Martin's A Game of Thrones, the first book in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. It is being co-produced with the BBC. So far they have Sean Bean, Mark Addy and Jennifer Ehle as big names in the cast.

I'll get HBO just for, and while, this series is running. I love the books...I just wish GRRM would stop partying at Cons long enough to finish the next one (it's been 4 years since he said it would be out).
