A lot true and a lot self-serving drivel for Dennis Kucinich's failed campaign for President (the local socialist activist in the last third).

To see Detroit's streets that empty would take some careful planning of the shoot. Most likely very early morning, a time at which I could get shots of NYC or Chicago streets empty. Not unexpected if you want things to look as bad as possible.

There is now a big move on to level large portions of Detroit's empty residential and factory areas, about 40\% of its land eventually, and turn them into parkland - back to nature if you will. This plan would keep the downtown and leave 3 population enclaves.

Similar plans are in store for other cities in Michigan starting with Flint, one of those hit hardest and with a huge number of empty and irreparable structures.

Wildlife: they showed pheasants and other game birds, deer and the like, but there have been other critters seen recently; fox, coyote (aka: prairie wolf), badger, weasel, Peregrine falcon (fastest animal on Earth - 200mph in a stoop), red-tailed hawk (5' wingspan), bobcat etc. etc. The Peregrine's nest on the skyscrapers, which are very similar to the cliffs they normally nest in. Bad news for the pigeons

Sooner than later I expect our largest predator, the mountain lion (aka: cougar, panther or puma), to be seen there.

Officially it doesn't exist in Michigan - the Dept. of Natural Resources is heavy into denial, it doesn't want to "panic" people - but it is here.

We've seen them and they've been filmed out here in the suburbs for the last 25 years. One was seen at close range by a DNR official, who was told not to write it up and to shut up. He didn't. He was north of here in a state park when he went to the beach early in the AM to watch the sun rise. The cougar chose the same time to take a drink from the lake. Distance: less than 50 feet.
