Only use IE with the FireFox IE Tab plugin (renders pages with "special" IE code using IE's engine, but in FF tabs)

There are multiple installs which seems to fall along the following lines:

        Windows XP
        Windows Server 2003
        XP x64 / Windows Server 2003 64-bit
Windows Vista / Windows Server 2008
        Windows Vista 64-bit / Windows Server 2008 64-bit
Found IE Tab recently and previously used IE View.

the 32-bit is for the rare occassion a site requires a 32-bit plugin that won't run in the 64-bit process. I've never had to use the 32-bit browser.

Actually the reason why the 32 bit version is included in Vista 64 is to run flash plugins which is not supported by Adobe in 64bit yet.

There are probably other reasons but flash is my only reason why I use IE 32bit in Vista 64.

I'm going to try IE8.0 just to see if it's truly as fast as Microsoft claims it to be, I am running a dual opteron setup running Vista64 and 8GB ram.

              We'll see.

I downloaded the 64 bit version and went ahead and installed it, it upgraded both versions to 8.0 but my 32 bit version is still intact(..as far as flash goes)

On /. discussion about this release there was some very applicable joke/comment, I'll quote it here...
First, a joke circa 1983: a hardware guy and a software guy (remember, this was 1983) take an HP Unix system to the roof of a 5 story building. They connect a long extension cord, boot it up, and throw it off the roof. There is a resounding crash and they rush down to see the results. "Wow!" shouts the hardware guy, "it's still running!" The software guy shrugs and says, "Yeah, but it's still running HP-UX."

What's my point? It may be better than previous MSIE attempts, but it is still Microsoft, it's still IE, and it still only runs on Windows. As a web designer the rule is still: make it look right in Firefox, then unbreak it in MSIE{6,7,8}.
(though I'm not sure about the ending...it seems that doing site using Webkit/Opera results in somewhat higher probability that it'll work flawlessly in FF than the other way around (of course one still has to fix it for IE...))

There were also some slightly amusing modern adaptations...
Two computer science majors take a windows machine to the roof of a 5 story building. They connect a long extension cord, boot it up, and throw it off the roof. There is a resounding crash and they rush down to see the results. "Wow!" shouts the first guy, "it's still running!" The other guy shrugs and says, "Well yeah, windows is used to that by now."
Two computer science majors take a windows and a linux machine to the roof of a 5 story building. They connect a long extension cord to each, boot them up, and throw them off the roof. There is a resounding crash and they rush down to see the results. "Wow!" shouts the linux guy, "it's still running!" The windows guy shrugs and says, "I think mine crashed before it hit the pavement"
                    And also:
That joke is a perfect analogy for IE8's "porn mode".
Listen kids, if you're looking at porn, ANY porn, in ANY version of Internet Explorer, you're doing it wrong.
"Check it out, I can watch all this porn and no one will ever know!"
"That's nice, but your computer seems to have caught several STDs."
