What scares me is the extremely high return rate for NForce chipset mobos...
I'm sooo happy I went intel this time round...

next time will probably be AMD since i want to OC the balls off the CPU.....

Ekhem, how does that work for you reliability-wise?

By his frequent "my computer crashes" posts, I'd say "badly"
If there's artificial intelligence, there's bound to be some artificial stupidity.

Jeremy Clarkson "806 brake horsepower..and that on that limp wrist faerie liquid the Americans call petrol, if you run it on the more explosive jungle juice we have in Europe you'd be getting 850 brake horsepower..."

The "computer crashes" are for information and help.
I like my main PC to be on the "Razors Edge" and won't quibble about breaking something.
Its annoying,. but so far I have only killed the 4850....
If everything went perfectly then I would't be OCing far enough...

I've tried Watercooling twice, and I could have gotten the same results on air, so I left Watercooling.
My current rig is rock stable now.

AMD will allow overclocking to 6GHz, providing the cooling is there. LN2, ok, thats a bit far for me, but extreme aircooling is pretty easy.
The Quad is not going any higher due to manufacturing issues of the CPU and Chipset.
If AMD can go a lot higher, then I'm all for it.

The difference in games at normal resolutions is a few fps at best. and AMD is a lot lot cheaper for the "unlocked" cpus...a hell of a lot cheaper...

I've been doing this since my Cyrix 120+ OC to 150+....and the voodoo 1 OC to 60MHz from 50MHz...

The difference between intel and AMD cpus, sorry.
                    Once overclocked.

Just wait until the underclocking thread comes up when the itx mobo arrives...
