  • "Forbidden Planet" update (biggie)

Initial reports had Joel Silver producing and J. Michael Straczynski (Babylon 5, The Changeling etc.) directing.

IESB and Latino Review, both well connected sources, are now reporting that J. Michael Straczynski is the screenwriter and a new person is interested in directing (drumroll).......

    James Cameron

It's also said the story will be extended to cover the Bellerophon incident and it could also be a trilogy.

Guess with Avatar almost in the can he needs another project.

My favorite scene in the original was when the id monster was trying to break through the force field. At 7-8 years old & seeing it up close on a big screen it had me and my friends yelling "oh s**t" and almost wetting our pants

Disney animators did that scene and several others.

Oh Lord. Here comes another one. It just never works.
Why can't they make good remakes of bad movies that had potential, instead of stinker remakes of great movies?

On the other hand, hope springs eternal I guess...

PS Let me guess. It's going to star Keanu Reeves.

Or better yet, something fresh and new.

Naw. Fresh and new is scary. Safer to stick with the old and stale.
