  • My Y2K prob!

I have been away for a couple of weeks over Christmas and New Year, and this is what happened when i came back home.

On the 13th Jan I plugged in my PC to the mains to watch a video (TV card). Shortly after I went to bed, happy that the bug had not bitten.

Around Six thirty in the morning my girlfriend was awoken to the funky bios beep and after several minutes of belting me I woke to find that my PC had powered up all by its self?
It also now claims that the BIOS was flashed in Dec '99!
    WIERD!

I have never heard of this before and I wonder if any of you guys have?

    Cheers,

do you think a power surge could have booted it up?

That is possible. If it is connected to mains all the time it is most likely.
Some newer BIOSes als have a AC Power loss restart option under PowerManagement. Check that but I don't think it has it.
        Does everything work right now?
I wouldn't worry about it anymore then.

        Regards, Alegria
