                    Sorry, Alessandro!

I couldn't wait anylonger!!! I found a good deal on a 650 (for $299). I've heard that all recently fab'ed Athlons are now 0.18µ. Here's hopin the L2 cache is high quality. Besides, when Q3 rolls around I'll build another one with DDR-RAM support, blah, blah, blah... No really! I told myself last August that I'd build an Athlon by Jan-Feb timeframe. The next greatest thing is always "just around the corner." I want an Athlon NOW! (even though I'm going to have to wait until next month ;-)

I nabbed an Athlon 650 and motherboard for an outragously low price through a 'special', but very legal, purchase program (I love having connections in the retail world). My chip should be in within a couple of weeks, then it's off to the races. I wonder how fast I can get it using Greebes Athlon toy?

looks like my new chip is a bum week - guess I'll have to take it back tomorrow...
