  • Athlon overclocking

Is there any other way overclocking an Athlon then soldering or buying a golden fingers card? There MUST be a way to soft adjust the FSB. SoftFSB does not work, even though it's supposed to support both Irongate Access and my ICS9248AF-64 clockchip. There is an option in the bios for manually adjusting the FSB, but it seems ****ed since setting it to manual doesn't bring up any addition menues.

My MB is a MSI 6167. Suggestions?

Nope.... and Ummm what BIOS are you using on your 6167? I've one and I'm not seeing any FSB settings!

      1.5...

      No, that just the problem...
There is a "Frequency / Voltage" submenu directly beneath the mainmenu.. And there's a setting for autodetetc freq. on/off. Now, in the first versions of the bios (1.0 and pre.), when you choose to disable, other options appeared where one could alter the freq/voltage manually. By some reason MSI have disabled that in the later versions =(.

So, the functions seem to be implemented on the mainboard, they are just not in use. That's why i'm a little surprised to that SoftFSB doesn't work (atleast not for me, it just hangs when i press "Get FSB"). Too bad i'm only an API programmer =(... Can't be to hard to adapt SoftFSB for Irongate and our clockchip.
