  • Paedophilia

According to local news, the following page has been blocked in the U.K due to complaints of paedophilia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virgin_Killer

If you can't see the picture or page, look for the Scorpion's album cover "Virgin Killer".

My take on the subject: It's too much of a stretch there, what's next, calling Gauguin's paintings paedophilia as well?

Edit: Gauguin's models were mostly 'underaged' and he got his STD from 'dealing' with some.

Oh, and how about the statue of David and others?

Apparently Amazon is showing the same picture without anyone making a fuss over it:

Not sure what motivates those idiocies...drive to protect the children from the "bad" of adult world coupled with the effects of sexual revolution which mean people have false perception that children are much more exposed to sexuality now than they were in the past?

Yeah, we have our share of that too...quite recently a law was unanimously passed by our parliament which has unintened (?...) effect of criminilasing propagation of drawings of "underaged" characters (does anyone keep their birth certificates?) in poses that might be interpreted (by whom?...) as sexualy provocative.

That includes many manga drawings, for example from this site of my buddy ...

(BTW, putting on such site as many as possible photos of "nude"/"provocative" paintings/sculptures which depict models known to be underaged might be one of the few effective defense strategies, just in case...can anybody list from memory artists other than Gauguin with similar preference of subjects?)

You could accuse Donatello's David of being historically accurate (read: underage). Check paintings by Titian and I'm sure there are many many more who used 'underaged' models for their art in 2 and 3D.

Law & opinions vary so widely regarding "kiddie porn" that it's ridiculous IMO.

Download an internet video of a 12 year old girl nude, portraying a prostitute etc. and even without explicit footage of intercourse odds are if anyone catches you it's off to the pokey and on to the sex offenders list.

Hell....this might happen to a parent if they take pics of their kids skinny dipping at the beach on film and get them developed at the local drug store.

ON THE OTHER HAND - go to a video store, Amazon or whatever and buy the "extended" release Louis Malle's 1978 film "Pretty Baby" and it's perfectly legal. Brooke Shields was 12 when it was filmed. I defy anyone to say some of her scenes, especially those with Keith Carradine, don't qualify as "kiddie porn" under many current laws.

Why the special treatment? It was nominated for an Oscar (score), won the Technical Grand Prize and was nominated for the Golden Palm at Cannes.

And another something to chew on: http://www.bluelineradio.com/pictorialhistory.html

edit: I wonder where are all these deeply concerned souls when pageants such as seen in Little Miss Sunshine happen all over the country. I suppose they're more Kosher than a German album picture from 1976...

Ah, reminds me about link from jj.am "About" page and one pic in jj.am itself...

              Jock Sturges "art" http://darklightphoto.blogspot.com/2...1_archive.html

Still, those are not very usefull for my need which I mentioned above (there is apparently some uproar about such works, too many people can sum them up "just the same kind of deviants"; it would be harder for them to do that with old works of established artists)

PS. This whole thing also reminded me about one text I stumbled upon recently...
The only problem I have with this naked for art and fashion bullshit is that I am not down with the double standard. I post tits on my site everyday and I’m called a porn site and get blocked in schools and offices around the world and shut down by paypal and can’t secure advertisers but when Lily Cole shows off her pussy in a magazine, they end up luring in million dollar ad deals because shit’s considered edgy or artistic because a famous model is being the slut and not some hotter but trashier chick from Florida taking a load inside her.

Don't forget Jodie Foster's body-doubled "nude" scenes in "Taxi Driver" (reclining on a couch) and "The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane" (undressing & getting in bed with her boyfriend), both done by her sister Connie.

And DON'T EVEN get me started on kiddie beauty pageants
