  • Asus Xonar DX

To finally give Creative some competition in the sound card market, Asus has released a $90 version of it's Xonar line. Now that it has a competitor in the mass market price they can put some pressure on the X-fi line.

Creative is screwed. They have 2 other higher end version of this card coming out as well.

Their soundcard division is screwed anyway, most people don't care about separate soundcards anymore (and for this reason it's even weirder that Asus is entering this market now)

But I'll try to put my Aureal Vortex SQ2500 also into the next machine...
