  • a fix for the msi6167 usb problem.

hi guys for the hell of it i went and looked around on the amdzones web site and someone made refrence to a msi message board. i found this link on msi's us site
    http://www.stormlabs.com/message/msg....asp?groupid=3

and a posibale solution to the usb problem. it seems its not a usb problem at all but a not useing a ps2 mouse problem. thier are two ways to fix the hang 1 is to install a mouse in the ps2 port and tuck it out of the way (good for dos support and safe mode) and the other is to go into the bios and turn off pnp os and switch irq 12 to isa.

i don't know if this works but i will try it as soon as i get home. it is reported that usb modems work fine im now thinking of getting usb scaner if i can get the mouse working with out errors on boot.

    ------------------
my system has arived. all together and if i new about the usb bug in 98 with this board i would have been fiished a lot sooner.

msi 6167 mobo k7 500 wk41 now at 650.(not overclocked its a real 650 they underclcoked.) 256 meg ram ,addtronics case w 250watt sp power supply, matrox g400, maxtor diammax 2500+ 10gig hd,5x cldvd region free, 3com 10/100 nic and 56k ext modem, xitel p storm sound card. lots of controlers joystick throttle rudder raceing wheel, and 19in monitor, usb/ps2 logitech mouse

hey anyone know how to fix the usb mouse boot hang problem with the ms6167

it takes a little time for the link to load i guess they are useing old code or my conection at work sucks today.
