  • video editing freeware (mac/pc)

    Hello,

A colleague asked me if I knew free software to edit video files (crop, process, ...), on either Windows or Mac.

The only things I know are Virtualdub (procesing/crop) and Super (for conversion); both are only on PC. Any other suggestions? Perhaps for Mac?

    Thanks!

The only readily available ones I can think of are Windows Movie Maker and Mac's iMovie. Both are pretty basic, but what do you want for nothing?

Open source software abounds, of course, especially if one is familiar with Linux.

I've also directed him to the softwarelist over on videohelp.com
