Go search for "rmorph" in search sites. I found a couple.
I've heard that Easy CD Creator 4 will crash when write, so does anyone know if there's a patch it will fix the bug or which other CDR program which is as good as EZ creator?

I don't have EZ CD Creator 4, only 3.5 . It works fine with that. Didn't download 4 because I heard it doesn't work well with NT or W2K. I'll get 4 when they fix it up a little better. Sorry about the firmware, it wasn't the original I got from Ricoh's japanese site but the one modified by rmorph to allow my ATAPI AOPEN CRW9420 to be upgraded

Yay, got it all working. 6x write is just magnificant. But took me awhile though. It didn't work on Easy Creator 4 , it comes out with BSOD as soon as it writes. but works fine with version 3.5c

Now I just want to know if it has side effects on the drive or the system?
                would it harm?

i've also got it from MP7040S--->7060S and it seems that EZ CD Creator 4 dont recognise it as 6x only 4x but WinOnCD 3.5 works Perfectly in 6X .
Lets hope it doesn't have any harm effects in the drive itself in the long run........

I'd be surprised if there were any long term effects on the drive. Creative Labs 6x4x24 has the same FCC ID as my CRW9420 (i.e. BPP7040AXXXX.) They are essentially the same drive the only difference being the firmware. Did you try running the tests in EZCD 4? I had to run the tests in 3.5 before it would burn at 6x. Funnily the Creative burner refused to burn some of my Samsung 6X certified discs at 6X, where my modified 9420 did with some from the same box of ten. The creative ships with Nero.
