  • AGP 2x G400 32Mo DH

    Hello everyone

    I've got a G400 DH 32Mo with a PIII 450MHZ with MSI6163 Pro motherboard 128Mo RAM.

I find the utility which force my video card to AGP 2x (PD5.xreg). I change the value of AGPallback to -1 and i reboot my computer. Then i launch Sandra and it showed me now you work in AGP 2x. It's good but if i reboot again my video the result is : you are now AGP 1x ? ? ?.

I don't know what doing now!!!.

I email to MSI and they confirmed to me that their motherboard is AGP2x. I know that my video card is up to AGP 4x but why it stays always in AGP 1x?

For your information i've got second video card (3dfx) in PCI but if i remove it the same problem appears.

My OS is W98 first edition

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello!

    Another MS6163pro owner....WOW!!!!!!!

I had the same configuration as you have and noticed the same thing.

When I upgraded to the Max this problem disappeared: Sandra reported AGP 2x and I had not to force any registry setting.

Anyway, I would not pay much attention to this if the card performs as expected.

    Bye!

    Daniele.

Read the post by Nuno in this thread for an example as to why it does this.

      It doesn't make any difference.
