    Due to g400 probs I picked up a new cpu.Then I fixed my prob by forcing agp1x.Now I have my 300a(awesome at 450),a c400,and c333.The 400 works ok@450(6x75)the300a great(4.5x100).The 333 seems to only want to do 415(83x5).
Why wont it do 500(5x100)?Bios will not even flash up.Bh6 rev1 w\latest bios as of10\10\99
Maybe I should invest in a p3?what is best overclockable?
    thanks

I had bumped my core voltage from default 2.10to 2.20

The best in my experience has been the PIII-450 O'Cable to 600 in my case.

The 500 would probably be the next candidate. Some have it over 600Mhz. If you could hit 133FSB with the 500Mhz you'd have 666Mhz...

Totally EVIL or LIVE whichever you prefer...

Thanks Guyver,if I buy a new chip it'll be the p3-450 I believe (I want to try the turbogl drivers),but what if it won't o\c?I still don't know why the c333 won't run on the 100 mhz bus.

The 333->500 O/C is by no means guaranteed. Even the famed 300a->450 is only about 80% successful. O/Cing 333's is less likely, and it's possible yours just won't go.

I'm very happy with my 300a@450,just don't understand why it will run 4.5x100 and 333 wont do 5x100.The bios doesn't start after changing it.Even with the c400 I get boot when I change to 6x100,(celeron cpu at 600mhz)then it hangs up.No biggie,Ill probably pick up a p3-450 now,but I just am so damn curious.

It probably just has to do with timeing...
The 333 was designed specifically for a 66Mhz bus, and it may be that the 333 was a pushed 266 or 300.

That's what I found out with the PIII-600 - an expensive lesson. The 600's are actually slower processors with forced multipliers. They are at the end of the spectrum for the standard PIII chip design. The Coppermines will be better as they are designed for higher clockspeeds, lower voltage, etc....

Don't be too upset if the 333 doesn't hit what you were hoping for. At least you didn't shell out $600 for a processor that won't OC for nothing... (all right I was able to push it to 672 with a 112FSB - but that's slower than my PIII-450 with the 133FSB...)
