  • Budget OCing CPU - E2160

    $106 CAD @ ncix.com

    Intel Pentium Dual Core E2160 Dual Core Processor LGA775 1.8GHZ 800FSB 1MB

    Overclocks ~75% on stock cooling
    1.8>3.15
When OC'ed, performance similar (or slightly below) to X6800.
It's about on par @ 3.4ish, easily attainable with aftermarket cooling.

BTW, do I have right impression/info that Evga board on Nvidia i650 seems to be new "god of overclocking"? (also thanks to its low price)

The i650 (EVGA is usually priced low but still a great product) is extremely well priced. It's about on par with the 965P but priced a bit lower I think.

It would definitely make an excellent cheap OCing combo with the E2160.

The Asus P5K is the new king IMHO. Some guy hit 610MHz FSB on it the other day. Not only that but this is the most stable motherboard I have ever owned.

Hi All i recieved my new P5K vanilla (buy Seller french , not prétested) yesterday and i test my great E6600 (589mhz max fsb stock Air) = Ex WR ( http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=136681) Same topic (english) = http://www.ixtremtek.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72 I test stock bios origin (0202) and my configuration :

Yeah the P35 chipset (on the P5K) is really nice. A little bit more $ than the ASUS P5B 965P though, or the i650.

Looks like there will be more massive Intel CPU price cuts towards the end of July.

DDR3 is starting to show up too, but the latencies are horrible right now.
