I am thinking about updating my system some more, and am wondering if anyone has used any of the Atlas 10K 160/m drives. Also, has anyone used the Adaptec 3950U2 controllers? I am thinking of getting both for my system.... Yeesh - about $1K total including shipping. That should put some zip into my disk subsystem.

    I already run SCSI (2940U2W) with a 9.1GB Cheetah (10K+ RPM) - I just want faster.... (grin)

I may go for the drive for now, and wait on the card for the next gen boards that fully utilize PCIX, I2O, etc....

      Hi Guyver,

What IRQ does the BE6 assign to the integrated AT/66 controller or does it assign one at all??

Guyver, if you have a Cheetah, I wouldn't think about upgrading unless you have run out of room. Then I'd just get a bigger Cheetah

I'd suggest RAID striping, but you might actually do it

You've got about the most awesome, fastest pooter of the whole lot here! I think if you wanna make it any faster, you will have to take it for a ride in your Porsche
