I've never seen this before (from the FAQ):

"What are the recommended system requirements for the game?
AMD Athlon 64x2 4800+ or Intel Core 2 Duo, 1Gb RAM, 3D Hardware Accelerator Card Required - 100% DirectXR 9.0c compatible 256MB (Geforce 7800, for example).

It should be noted that at the start of the game development our initially targeted system requirements were much lower. As a result (and due to the lengthy game development) the game can be played well on lower-end systems (the game ships with two renders - DirectX 8 and DirectX 9 one).

wow! those are steep requirements. I have exactly a X2 4800+, 2GB Memory, but a Dirext9b Card - Asus X800XT PE. It'll probably run and look pretty good.

640x480 here I come!! them mentioning the 7800 series as an example kind of freaks me out too, I hope the X800/6800 series does ok.

FYI - I picked up STALKER for $28.99 at Fry's! The price is good until the 27th, I believe. I can't comment much on the game yet as I only played 5-10 minutes of it. My initial thought is that it does not look or feel any different from any other FPS/RPG.

Plays fine on my laptop. Intel core 2 duo 1.6 with 2gb ram.
Not sure if i like it though...
