Beat me by a few seconds

Could be OD, but given her past medical problems & drug use her heart could have just given out.

They need to get that baby away from the boyfriend. He was in the room with both Anna and her son when they died & now all that's between him and $200m is the kid.

Best outcome would be for the paternity test to show neither claimant to be daddy and for the kid to go with Anna's mom, who appears to be the only family member (or potential family member) with their head screwed on straight.

Actually Anna was one of those kids who broke their parents heart.

Her mom was a cop for 28 years. The wheels came off when she got married at 17, had a child, separated and ended up a stripper to make ends meet. That lead to marrying the old man, Playboy and inevitably the LA celebrity culture, and we all know what that does to young women.

question for doc: wouldn't the child go to her grandmother until they determine paternity?

Not necessarily, but likely. The court could also appoint a legal advocate, usually an attorney, to handle the child's interests.

There is an emergency hearing early tomorrow brought by one potential father (also the most likely; a photographer) seeking a DNA sample be taken at the autopsy (later tomorrow) so paternity can be established. You need samples from the mother (confirms maternity), the child and all potential fathers for legally bulletproof results.

If the photographer gets his order it'll take 'til about next Wed. or Thurs. to get the results. I can't even imagine the judge not granting it.

The photographer isn't so bad from what I hear, so it's her slime lawyer/bf I'm concerned about. Something creepy there....

If neither of them are dad then grandma is the next in line, unless the father can be held unfit.

Basically it's going to be a legal sh*t-storm.

This says absolutely nothing about her parenting ability. The fact that her daughter married at 17 and got pregnant does. (Yeah I know, I'm one to talk...)

According to this article that says it has a reliable source claiming that Anna choked on her own vomit from taking "children's sedatives", which is what her mother said was the reason for her death. But keep in mind that this is not the official autopsy report.

The employee pulled back a sheet and discovered that she appeared to have choked on her own vomit.

The same source claims that Smith took what was referred to as a "children's sedative," and had "kept passing out" before her death.

AccessHollywood.com has learned from this same source that one of the attending physicians at Memorial Regional Hospital was Dr. Randy Katz. When we contacted Dr. Katz, he acknowledged that he was indeed an attending physician, but Dr. Katz would not comment on any specifics related to his care of Smith.
