    bastard.

around here, the fire brigade would show up soon after a call and move the bees.

"Perhaps they communicate by changing colour? Like those sea creatures .."
    "Lobsters?"
"Really? I didn't know they did that."
    "Oh yes, red means help!"

As az pointed out, it's obvious they were rather high on the moron totem-poll.

I couldn't have said it as nicely as you did, though

Had a nasty bee incident here. Called the police and they called the fire brigade. 3 police cars and 2 fire engines outside our house for ½ a day! They had swarmed onto a chimney about 9 m up.

Had some bees starting to build a hive out behind work one day right near the parking lot. Grabbed a bottle of cleaner from inside and sprayed it as well as knocking it down with a broom handle. Bees were dead. Squished the survivors. They did not come back. Thankfully I am not allergic.

I remembered those pictures of yours too.

But why don't beekeepers get called? That would be the first person I'd call.

Kind of wondering what those kids did when they were kids.

Bees hate smoke. I don't know if and how fast they'd return to the spot, but they just can't stand smoke.

I'd certainly call the beekeepers. In fact I'd call my daughter-in-law who works for a service company that breeds queens & sets up hives for distribution to farms as a pollination aid. It's a very busy place given how much farm country is nearby.

The guys in that thread are low grade morons.

Well it doesn't look like the kids will be using that swingset for a while with the melted/charred seats and all the black residue all over everything.
