  • Would like to overclock a PII400 with abit BX6 rev 2

    Hi all,

I would like to overclock my PII 400 but not to sure what is and isn`t safe... I have an Abit BX6 rev 2 and would like to know the good settings for multiplier, voltage.. etc that would run without too much problems. Anyone using that configuration and that has any tips to offer?

    Ciao

    Ben

    Hi!
I think you're stuck at 4x for the multiplier, so all you can do is increase the bus speed. Try going to 112mhz, then 117mhz (then 117mhz @ 1/4 PCI), and higher. If you see problems with crashing, knock up the voltage. Keep going till you hit around 2.4v. This is as high as you should (sanely) go. And COOL that thing! Also, turn off Error checking thingy in the softmenu.

    Cheers,
    Steve
