French space agency to publish UFO archive online....

PARIS (Reuters) - The French space agency is to publish its archive of UFO sightings and other phenomena online, but will keep the names of those who reported them off the site to protect them from pestering by space fanatics.

Jacques Arnould, an official at the National Space Studies Center (CNES), said the French database of around 1,600 incidents would go live in late January or mid-February.

He said the CNES had been collecting statements and documents for almost 30 years to archive and study them.

As of tonight at the stroke of midnight the US National Security Agency is declassifying all U.S. government records older than 25 years unless the classifying agency had already received an exemption for that document.

Basically exempt items are anything that could cause an "identifiable" risk to national security, would violate a person's privacy or involves more than one agency.

It's estimated that hundreds of millions of pages will be released.

Nice if they could be Wiki'ed

The US declassifications aren't just UFO related files.

Sadly, anything and everything related to the assassination of JFK? Exempt.
