  • Is my cpu good for the g400/max?

I have a K6-3 450 with 128mb pc100 ram and I want to replace my old millennium, I was wondering whether it would be a waste of money buying the max or if I should stick with the g400. Im not planning to upgrade my cpu in the near future.
I will be using my system for wordprocessing, dvd movies, and gaming (at the moment below 1024x768 because of my measly 15" monitor).
Any input will be greatly appreciated.
    System:
    Asus A7V rev. 1.01p bios 1011
    AMD Thunderbird 800
    SBLive retail with liveware 3.0
    Matrox g400 MAX pd 6.51
    LG Flatron 795FT 17" monitor
    IBM 13.5 GB 7200 hdd
    Pioneer 106-s dvdrom
    WinME
    directx 8.0a
    384mb pc133

I would go with the plain G400.
Max does better at higher resolutions, but they are close to the same at 1024 and below...
    Core2 Duo E7500 2.93, Asus P5Q Pro Turbo, 4gig 1066 DDR2, 1gig Asus ENGTS250, SB X-Fi Gamer ,WD Caviar Black 1tb, Plextor PX-880SA, Dual Samsung 2494s
