  • Problems with installshield wizard!!!

    Hi!

Whenever I want to install a game or other program that uses the installshield wizard (Sisoft Sandra just to mention one), my systems grinds to a halt. Installshield starts and the progressbar which is allways shown goes quickly to 100%. Just when it is about to start the installation part of the program it goes into slowmo mode. I can wait for up to 10 minutes for it to get to the next step. Windows is somehow really low on ressources it seems and therefore grinds to an almost complete halt. all I can do is to wait or reset the computer.

    Any Ideas???

    System config:

    Windows 98 Danish
    Matrox G200 Mystique bios ver. 2.3, PD5
    Abit BH6 bios ver. JJ.
    Intel PII-350
    128 Mb PC100 SD-RAM
    10,1 GB IBM Deskstar HDD.

    Regards,

    Jake

Are you running an anti-virus program, if so disable it while you do the install.

as mragsdale it could an anti-virus program ..
2nd it could be some of those installers which monitors ur hd and files
like clean sweep or somethin else ..
also u can try to alt-ctrl-del and see wat tasks are runnig in the background
