Everything gets fixed and is almost exactly the same as it was before?

This always seems to be the problem with huge cliffhanger episodes - especially when the series has already been picked up for another 2 (?) years (in the case of Atlantis).

SG1 only has 12 more episodes ever so yeah, I'm looking forward to the writers doing something that doesn't leave the status quo nicely balanced again at the end.

I also liked not having to wait until january for more stargate of any flavour.

Hmm... I think they now have the characters with some advantages.

First Atlantis is almost fully repaired and powered. It's been running on 1 or less zpms for a while and now has a full complement.

Enough to send a couple or more home to earth.

There is also the pan galatic bridge... With maybe an empty ancient battleship somewhere in the middle of it.

I forgot that there was a battleship left over, as well as 3 full ZPMs.

Result all around then - let's hope SG1 end up with that much new free stuff

Even though they have a few full ZPM's (is it three? hadn't heard in the episode), they're still running low on Drones right? And they've blown up their stardrive. So all they can do with the ZPM's is use the shield...

And power a whole series-worth of ill-concieved experiments that almost end the existence of the universe.

The city takes three ZPMs and they said that it had a full complement.
