  • Got to shoot one of these....

    A Barrett M107 .50 cal semi-auto sniper rifle;

We had gone to the range to sight in our deer rifles and the range owner had just bought one for his collection; just $15,000

Being a sport he let us try it out on the 300m range. Given that this thing can thread needles at 1500m & blow through armored personnel carriers it was a ton of fun

    NICE!!

Imagine the DC sniper with one of those.. being 1500meters away, you would have had a hard time catching him

hahahaha ... a .50 cal would be anything but silent. That's a lot of gunpowder in there. If anything they would have been caught after the first shot.

            NoS**T!!

We shot a few targets backed by concrete blocks, which it turned into concrete dust, and some 1/2" armor plate, which might as well have been cardboard.

Suprisingly it has nowhere near as much kick as I expected....certainly less than my .50 cal buffalo rifle. Barrett did his homework

As noted; it's a nail driver. If you settle down & just shoot as if it were a target gun it's easy to put most of the 10 shot clip through the same hole, even at hundreds of meters.

Here's the one I got to shoot this summer. Not the semi auto but still more fun than you could imagine.

I've been rebuilding a bunch of surplus FN FAL Kits the past few months. We managed to get ahold of about 10 Imbel (Brazil) kits cheap.

Cutting the old receiver stub off the barrel.

                Good grind and split.

Sand blasting to old finish off the parts.

                ready to re finish...
                Timing the barrel .

Checking the Temperature of the Parkerizing solution.

                Assembly of the finished parts.

                ready to test fire finally.

This one has the original Butt Stock and handguards.

Sorry can't post the images directly from the FAL Files Forum.

Here's one I just finished 2 weeks ago. It's a Para FAL and kind of a Mutt....
Imbel lower receiver, DSA Upper receiver, 18" South African barrel, FNC Hand guards and an ACE Folding Stock.

The final version with the oprics mount top cover.

I'm currently building the clone of this one for a friend.
