  • How to get AC3 sound out?

OK, I'd just like someone to explain this to me. I have a Monster Sound MX300 with the digital output daughtercard (when it gets here). I want to get either a DVD card for my Millenium G200 or a G400 (now, I mean; I'll get a G400 in any case), a DVD-ROM and surround sound speakers.

If I want to play Dolby Digital sound, which parts need to have S/PDIF connectors? and in which directions (input or output)?

    Thanks.

Forget the DVD card. What you need is the Cinemaster Soft DVD player. It will allow you to output AC3 through the software.

It works on my Sounblaster Live and I have the Mill G2oo.

You can find the player on the warez sites as they only sell it to oem's.

Thanks for the info. Does it then matter whether the speakers are connected thru analog or digital?

BTW, is there another alternative besides the Cinemaster? No offense intended, but I have **no** desire to wade through porn sites to get to the warez section. I had enough of that when I was interested in console emulation (before Bleem!).
