Seems that the number of "independent" graphics card mfg's (i.e. those that don't manufacture their own chips) is dwindling fast. Matrox and ATi have long made their own chips and cards. 3dfx bought STB (making STB snub their nose to Nvidia).
Looks like Diamond will be snubbing Nvidia and 3DLabs. 3DLabs seems to be o.k. since they make their own high end OpenGL cards. That leaves Nvidia to decide who they'll buy...
