  • G200 / WIn 98 Video Corruption

Has anyone else had the following problem with G200/PII 400/Win 98:

For no apparent reason, every few months or so, I boot into Win98 from cold and the video display is corrupted and Windows 98 is hung. Going into Safe mode is OK, but simply removing and re-installing the Matrox drivers seems to have no effect. It often takes me several attempts to restore correctly and I still haven't worked out the correct sequence of video driver / monitor removal etc. Any ideas?

    Kevin

PS The card is bog-standard 8Mb, not overclocked. It is not the card because I can still boot into NT with no problems.

Maybe you can try the BIOS 2.3.

I've seen bad memory cause similar situations. Have you run diagnostics on your system, and on your video card?
