hiya, i just got an ibm thinkpad 350(circa 1993) that wasn't being used anymore, great deal huh?
it worked for the first few times i turned it on, even backed up the hd, then installed win95 by way of interlnk/svr. it worked a few times but now it won't boot up at all. it goes through the ram check, and the rest of the post then acesses the boot drive (tried both floppy and hd) for about a half a second, then just dies. the screen goes black, and the drive stops spinning. funny thing tho, if i'm trying a hd boot, after it dies i can press the standby button, and it boots up... on a black screen, i can't get the display back. i've tried this with the settings on 'lcd', 'lcd & crt', and 'crt' ... 's got me stumpt.
just wondering if anyone has any ideas before i pitch it... no use throwing money at it, at least not the kinda money it's gonna need to go into the shop.
thx
