Need to retrieve password for FTP account - trusted app?

I want to vape my XP install soon, and in parallel try Vista RC1 on another HDD.

Once complication is there is a FTP account I use regularly via SmartFTP and I can't remember the password. Getting it again is possible but will be slow and difficult. I also want to move to FileZilla.

Can anyone recommend a util to extract the password? I found one that intercepts the traffic and sniffs it out, but I was nervous that it could come with a lot of nasties.
