Well I'm swapping from AMD to Intel Core Duo. I'm going to use sysprep.

I think this approach is good enougth. First of all backup.

    Remove Nvidea Drivers
    Remove AMD drivers
    reboot
Change the Sata controllers to standard
    run the sysprep tool
shutdown and swap everthing over and pray.

It doesn't hurt to pre-install the drivers for the new hardware. That way maybe Windows will find them itself (it sometimes does). This is especially handy if you need new network drivers (can't download network drivers too easily if you don't have working network).

        Well that went pretty smoothly.

Sysprep a much better way of doing it rather coaxing your XP through the change.

Only crash I had was when I messed around with the Bios memory Timings. Guess I changed the wrong setting.
