Been doing some more looking and stumble across this little beauty; BenQ FP241W

Price: $950ca @ TigerDirect and NCIX

Also ran into this guy; HP LP2465

Price: $1050ca @ CompuSmart

The Dell 2407FPW is now down to $850ca again. Looking through the specs leads me to believe that they are all the same panel, the BenQ has an HDMI connector over the other two.

The Urge is strong in this one. I'm gonna hold off a couple days before deciding.

727 British pound = 1 550.54738 Canadian dollar. that's nearly 2x the price on Dell.ca!

it would have cheaper to order it here and have someone fly it across the ocean.

No, the British are always screwed over when it comes to prices, normally a straight $ to £ conversion, looking at Dells site if I had waited a few days I could of got it nearly £100 cheaper but hey isn't that always the way.

One thing I will say about the 2407, component in from the xbox360 is over saturated, the VGA input is however fine.

Call them about it. You're still in the return period, probably. If they don't just credit you, you can go ahead with the return I've heard of them just crediting the difference.

This one is easy to explain, first off shipping costs are slightly higher into the UK than the US, then we have 10% import duty to be paid on the cost of the good AND the cost of shipping the good to the UK, then we have 17.5% VAT to add to the final sale price of the good. So import duty + vat ends up adding 30% to the costs as the VAT is also charged on the import duty. Then because our petrol is about 75% tax we have to pay £5 ($9.50) per gallon into the trucks that haul and deliver our good from ports to warehouses then from warehouses to homes.

My card (Ati 850Pro) went all green when playing WoW once, guess it didn't like an 8 hour session at 1920 * 1200, cards fine now, assume it overheated.

I love my 2407, so much infact that come the end of the year when I build a new rig I'm going to buy a second.
