how do your commissions work? do we have to browse around the other site for a while? is there a minimum visit duration? let us know so we can maximize the benefit to you.
    P.S. You've been Spanked!

commissions work on click through - thats not a cheat, right click either sadly.

you click the ad link, i get credit.

amount depends on what the advertiser is paying per click - which in turn depends on the meta words value, i have had clicks previously that paid 0.5c and others that paid 20c per click. I am not told which ones for obvious reasons

        Have a look at http://www.google.com/services/adsense_tour/

There are different ways for the advertisers to subscribe, as well. It is very complex. However, I was once credited with $1.85 for a single click. I'd guess the average per click is between $0.40 and 0.50. The problem is that the payment also change according to the relevance of the ad content to the page content.

Amazon now have a similar style service, called Self-Optimising Links. However, the relevance of the ad to the page is not very good. They offer a 5% commission on all orders derived from a click, whether it is the advertised merchandise or not. I have it on good faith that having both on the same page is permitted according to both Google and Amazon rules. However, for me, it doesn't seem very effective. I've been running Amazon ads for about a month, now, and have had just 22 clicks and zero orders/commission. In the same time, I've been credited with about the same number of Google clicks, totalling over $10. However, my websites are very specialised and I have typically <100 visitors/day, averaging about 3 pages each.

I will see how the ads go this time round, realistically they are not going to pay for murc's share of the server, but as a supliment, they should help nicely.

Sorry, I won't. I hate ads. Admittedly, the ones on MURC don't bother me. I had to go look for them or I would not have know they were there.

can't say I like them either, but as you noticed, I tried to keep them as inobtrustive as possible.
                Shall see how they go.
