  • SMS with faked sender number possible?

Friend of mine, suspecting that this happened, asked this question (why am I always somebody to ask in such matters?...). And since I don't really know, and don't really have time to search seriously (acces to net only in cafes) - perhaps some of you heard/know something about it? Nothing awfully specific, just general things:
    1. Is it possible to send sms that will look like it was sent from someone's number/phone, and:
    2. If yes (I suspect it's entirelly possible), what level of sophistication/determination is required to do so? Hardware/software/web service? Free/one has to pay for it?

We don't need to know nothing more than that.
    Thanks in advance.

    1. Yes.
    2. I dont know if its free or not, but there are certain webpages that you can send them from.

Didn't we have a thread just like this last year? IIRC the conclusion was that most likely the phone belonging to the number the text message was received on was "borrowed" for a short amount of time.
