  • see transfered bytes per application

    Hello,

A simple question... In Windows it is possible to see the total number of bytes transferred over a given connection, but is it possible to see the number of bytes transfered by each application?

Main reason: I'm often using GPRS to connect my laptop the internet, and I would like to compare: webmail vs. thunderbird vs. pine, Opera Mini vs. Firefox, ...

    Thanks!

You might be able to set up perfmon to look at specific ports. Otherwise, I once saw a net logging program that claimed to do this but it didn't work so well so I can't recommend it. I don't even remember what it was called--but I would have looked it up for you if I thought it was good.
    P.S. You've been Spanked!

You might want to give Netlimiter a whirl. I believe it logs bytes of data sent per "app" and keeps records that you can review at will. Its not free, but I believe this is a 30 day demo available.

Their network monitor appears to be freeware!
