Advice: G450 etv, w2k?
I currently own a G400-tv with w2k (actually winxp)
What I want to do is (in order of importance:
capture full screen video
watch or capture TV
play games with smooth graphics
I thought the G400-tv was good for me, but I have had dissapointing results with the video capture even in w98. And the "support" for win2k is even worse. plus games like flight sim have problems.
I had considered buying a decent video card and a decent capture card separately. the problem is that they I would have to buy another card for the tv tuner.
then I saw the G450etv. it looks great, better chip then the g400, faster, more features, video capture (no mjpeg
).
but I dont want to be caught in the same trap again. When I first got the g400, I was optimistic because I saw matrox was still working on driviers and had been making progress. then after waiting over year, I find that nothing has been done and support is being dropped.
I would like people that are using the g450 etv with win2k (or winxp) to comment on problems that they may be having. Are they the same problems as with the g400tv? is the support even worse?
