  • High CPU Usage in Ffdshow with Parhelia?

    Hi all,

Basically when I play videos with Ffdshow on my Parhelia AGP 128mb, the CPU usage is always 100%, just as if the it wasn't hardware accelerated

On my other PC, which has a Radeon X600XE and a slower CPU, playing the same video results in only 30% CPU usage.

Playing other contents that doesn't use Ffdshow (e.g. Realmedia file) is fine.

So can anyone tell me what is going on please?
Is it not hardware accelerated? If so how do I enable it?

    Thanks!

ffdshow is a software filter, it's not hw accelerated at all. The difference may lie in some fault in handling the colourspace of the overlay surface by the parhelia? Try disabling all output colourspaces except YUY and/or YV12 in ffdshow to see if that makes a difference.
