  • Play WMV in QuickTime (Mac)

I've know about this software for awhile now, but at $10 for the basic player, I was only interested in passing. Sometime in the past 24 hours, Flip4Mac has started offering their WMV playback component for QuickTime for free.

If you think QuickTime on Windows is a festering pile of... well, you should see Windows Media Player on OS X. Anyhow, it seems to work well, even playing back WMV in Safari.

Doesn't MPlayer support WMVs in OS X?

I believe the current is a preview release. Pretty sure VLC will play WMV files though. They don't, however, act as plugins for playback in Safari (or other browsers).
