  • Slow PC - Processor affinity f*cked up?

So, the last few days my computer seems like it's really slow when I have a few programs running. Then when I look at the Task Mananager Performance tab CPU 0 is getting nearly 100% CPU Usage and CPU 1 is getting about 5% CPU usage. And when I check under Processes nearly all Processes have their Affinity set to CPU 0 (which I ofcourse change to CPU 0 & CPU 1), changing it to the way it should be fixes my problems, but next reboot everything is set to CPU 0 again...

Does anybody know what could be causing this, or how to fix it?

CPU 0 and CPU 1 are virtual cores (Hyperthreading).

No idea it sets affinity correctly on all procs here.

Maybe it would be worthwhile to check the forum of 2cpu.com http://forums.2cpu.com/

Hyperthreading is not the same as SMP: not all applications can take advantage of Hyperthreading.

What process(es) are eating up 100% of your CPU0?

        Try this:

If you can't find the file, PM me, and I'll hook you up.

            BIOS upgrade? New drivers?
