  • Scheduled C-Sections

So the next 4 days looks like this:

Today: Dinner as usual, no food for Julie after midnight.

    Tomorrow:
    6AM leave for hospital
    6:30AM checkin
    7:45AM baby removal procedure begins
    8:00AM hold screaming infant
8:15AM Julie is done getting stitched
    8:45AM Julie's spinal wears off
9:00AM Only 4 more days to go!
    ...
    ...
12:00PM Logan and my father-in-law arrive
2:00PM They're long gone by now
    ...
    ...

    Wednesday:
    ...
    ...
    ...

Thursday: If Julie's feeling better, they let her go Thursday afternoon. If she wants to stay, though, she can stay until Saturday.

Somewhere in there, my brother-in-law and his wife will show up, as will my Grandmother. But there's a lot of sitting around being reeeeeeaaaaallllllyyyyy bored. Apparently it's common with scheduled C-Sections.

      Hope it all went well.

(When I first read it I didnt see the c-section bit. Would have been very impressive is that was on the natural schedule of things.)

6.30 Check in Watch the news / read a paper
      7.45 Labour begins
      8.00 Baby arrives screaming

You forgot incessant nagging by the wife that she's the one not getting enough sleep and you need to start producing

Yes, scheduled c-sections are hella boring, but hey you won't get any sleep. Between the baby and the nurses, you will be woken up every hour and then every couple hours and then every few hours and so on. You'll soon be overjoyed to be home where you only get woken up here and there by the baby.

                    But hey, congratulations!

No, Julie is well aware that she's been pretty demanding on me recently, and is about to get even MORE demanding. She sent me home around 11 last night to get MOST of a night's sleep.

Oh good LORD yes, we were running on about 3-4 hours going into the operation (long story) and we just wanted to nap yesterday, but between the nurses, the unexpected visits (not unwanted, immediate family decided to drop everything and drive), and MORE nurses... eep!
