  • Things are changing. GPU render

Well, this app. at last uses GPU power for render.
Get access to all our filmmaking and motion graphics tools with Red Giant Subscription. Get started with Trapcode, Magic Bullet, VFX, Universe and Pluraleyes.

I think that's the right way.

Another thing: last week I was at Sonimag, a mini Photokina, in Barcelona (Spain). I was at Canon both seeing the NEW XL3 (HDV) and I was shocked. AMAZING. It was connected by analog components to a big Panasonic (plasma?) wide screen and the picture quality was... no words. Crisp, rich colours, awesome resolution. The machine is very sexy. I'm a SONY fan, but this CANON is something serious. I think is better, much better than the Sony FX-1 (also price).

Well, good news. Multicore CPUs, GPU for render, HDV is more popular every day...

Not much new other than the HDV gamut support.

The Matrox RT cards, including the RT.X100, have been using an embedded GPU for rendering and filtering effects for years and the Canopus XPlode plugins have done likewise with the system GPU for its 3D effects. Others do likewise.

Yes, I know. But this seems a quantum leap, and works or generic cards.
