    Sounds like a lot, but this is going to drive Sony NUTS as it could put a major hurt on their pro XDCAM sales.

    Maybe. But it looks like this thing is less flexible when it comes to MPEG2 encoding, compared to the XDCam platform. XDCam supports MPEG2 encoding in several bitrates and it seems to me that this one doesn't.
