  • Bad MPG... Audio out of sync, how can I fix?

I captured an MPG from my Digital TV card which has so bad frames due to interference... as a result, when I try and encode the file as something smaller the audio breaks sync and by the end of 30 minutes it's about 10 seconds out of sync.

Is there a good method of fixing this?

Premier doesn't like the file much... TMPGEnc previews the file ok, but the encoded version is out of sync (although no longer has bad frames).

Yes, you can fix this without broblems, useing TMPGEnc.
From Settings > Advanced > Source range > Audio gap correct (at the bottom).
You can try on a short clip taken from the same movie then try - msec or + msec.

BTW, this often happens to me when I capture from a satellite station (digital TV) and using this method has always been successfull.

                Hey Enak !

For DigiTV captures PVA Strumento is a must have !

It analyzes the stream, finds and corrects any delays and offsets and let's you demux the streams while providing proper timing tables as index files for natively cutting the MPEG2 streams with either Cuttermaran or Mpeg2Schnitt ...

I've been into that topic for quite a few years now, so don't hesitate to ask back, if you'd need more assist.

btw, the fact that MPEG2Schnitt links to a german website shouldn't scare you, since the latest release contains an english language version as well ...

I just found another update http://www.computerdns.de/mpeg2/Mpeg...076-Update.zip
