    I really don't understand this (the "news," not the concept of zero. ) Parrots counting the number of items: pretty cool (and old news.) Parrots being able to tell the difference between there being at least one object and no object at all: BFD... my friends cats are perfectly able to see that they're out of food or water and come "ask" somebody to refill the trays.

            I've seen a few things on Alex, he is really interesting. They are also using him to teach other grays and children. My Dad has a gray but all it seems to like to do is bite me .

                  I still don't "get" the point of this news article.

                  Lots of animals "get" the concept of zero (or lack of an item). Cats, dogs, etc. etc.
