  • Suggestion which digisuite?

After editing 28 tapes, and save enough $$ for a new system, beside my system dual 933/canopus storm. I am lookimg for p4/
digisuite combo? any suggestion guys? I am
not looking for any fancy realtime transitions capabilities(for 28 tapes I only used ones 3d transition, page peel, but unfortunately 'was rejected by the client).
I am only using utmost fadein/out.

It really depends on your source tapes. Are they Svideo or Mini DV/DVCam? And what are you exporting too?

The DigiSuite LX offers DV 25 as well as Mpeg-2 50, realtime keying etc.

DigiSuite DTV offers DV 50 and Mpeg-2 50 for very high quality video.

DigiSuite LE offers Analog Mjpeg captures at 1.3:1 compression or mathimatical lossless Mjpeg captures (if your source is analog only.

And the best of them all is the full blown DigiSuite for post production etc.

I've given you very brief product descriptions, if you want, goto www.matrox.com for more details.

    Regards,
    Elie

      Thanks Elie,

Mostly from a wedding tapes taken from
portable betacam and dvcam. Iam doing mostly
cut and paste and some music authoring. As
I said most of my client don't want any
fancy transition, and the outputs usually
back to tape or cdr using Macromedia Authorware. I am comparing rex and digisuite
      for price/value...

I would think a Digisuite LE with the optional Matrox DV-1394TI card would do the trick.

If too expensive, the LX would still be a great choice for its quality and value.
