  • No worries for M, ATi's Hydravision still sucks...

While I'm waiting for my new computer, I'm using a P-III with a Radeon 7000 Dualhead.

    I hate it.

The second head is a little bit blurred compared to the other one and ATi's multi display software is lame :/

It does lots of weird little things that were just not there with my P750 (like the way it expands the window to the whole worspace before resizing again very fast to just one screen).

No independent screens either (at least I haven't found out how/where to enable that).

Hydravision is kinda useless too as far as software goes...It adds very few features to the driver. I don't know why they haven't just added a few tick boxes in the control panel. 10MB to download on top of it! There's multidesk but...yawn...

When I had two screens I used Hydravision once and ditched it. I just enabled the screens through the control panel.

Sometimes I wonder only WHEN either ATI or Nvidia will buy Matrox and we'll have the same multi-head with them...

@The Pit: so did I, but I need Hydravision to keep the windows to only one screen and not two when maximized.

This double resizing is very unnerving. I wonder what it does for ppl suffering from epilepsia.

I don't think that Matrox will ever get sold ...

Just wait til they go bust and they buy up the rights to the technology.

I doubt they will go bust anytime soon, although they don't do much in desktop video anymore, they still have very lucrative video processing equipment.

                    Haha, can they afford them?

I'd love to work at Matrox for co-op though, see what's going on there these days...

Damnit, why can't they offer intern jobs at Waterloo!!!???
