  • Xbox360 Pricing in the $300 dollar range

Hmm nice undercutting of the PS3

Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

Sony already announced the PS3 will be priced in the same range as the PS2 when it launched, so in the $299-$349 range. The 50k yen price will probably only be the initial enthusist price in Japan, but before it's released world wide it'll drop to $299.

Rumor, or some comment from a Sony official, said that the PS3 would be under 50k Yen, which translates roughly into $465. However:

Oh, but a month ago everyone doubted me when I said that $300 was the magic number that a console HAD to cost to sell in the USA. Pfffffft!

299 is the magic number alright, but that doesn't mean it (a console, not the 360) gets released at that price everytime.

when it drops below that, sales magically go up (except if the ultimate turd, but they still sell 500K-1M of them i nthe US whatever happens).
