That's a darned good job of steady hands and stitching, then. But for a little odd shading in the sky, it looks like you used a panorama camera.

i can see the lines myself in the picture. im not sure if other people can but it bothers me when i stitch a picture together i can still see the lines even after so much blending.

i think its just because i know where they are. i dunno. something i need to overcome.. or get a wide angle lens.

I can too, although they are far less noticable than anything I can do. You did an excellent job merging the images.

good photography too. I'm afraid any pics i have on my computer are pretty craptacular :P

The odd shading I was talking about seems to be the top left quadrant of your shots. What camera are you using? Perhaps a better lens would help this..

9th May 2005, 19:05
What are the spec s on the lens you are using ? What settings were you using ? It looks somewhat like vignetting, although with the overlapped images it could be an artifact of the blending. If it is present on the single frames, try stopping the lens down a stop or two and see if it goes away. If it does, then it is the design of the lens (particularly true for long zoom telephotos) and you can work around it by stopping down to some extent. The other thing that can cause that is a lens hood or similar obstruction near the lens face.

Yeah, don't mess with those swans, they're the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered birds you ever set eyes on, just look at the bones! ;)

Or perhaps it's just a decoration for the African exhibit... Nah.....

cutter was 3" diameter (I have larger, but this one suited the job), running at 450 rpm and 150 in/min. I normally only use coolant on finish passes - carbide likes to run hot. the chips ,as they come off, turn bright blue from the heat.

Yes, I've got to take the 400 :( , but doing the drive there early Saturday and back early Monday minimizes the pain. Also using the 407 helps
It's just east of Bracebridge off hiway 11, right on the Muskoka river in a little area called Frazerburg. And actually it belongs to the outlaws inlaws.

Nice Thread...I think I also add some pictures... :)
The pictures are linked to my photo album I have on my university account.
Currently it holds only the San Francisco pictures from October 2003 where I visited the OS/2 WarpStock event (this year it is held in Hershey, Pennsylvania (known as the "Sweetest place on earth")).

I first add this one from the San Francisco International Airport... http://www.informatik.uni-oldenburg.de/~julbts/SanFrancisco/2003-10-20/slides/PA200089.JPG (http://www.informatik.uni-oldenburg.de/~julbts/SanFrancisco/2003-10-20/slides/PA200089.html)

There are several other pictures like the Golden Gate in the fog that are pretty nice. Here is one of them:
http://www.informatik.uni-oldenburg.de/~julbts/SanFrancisco/2003-10-21/slides/PA210018.JPG (http://www.informatik.uni-oldenburg.de/~julbts/SanFrancisco/2003-10-21/slides/PA210018.html)

If you search a little bit through the album you should find me on one of the pictures. ;)

Navigation help for the photo album:
If you click in the middle of the picture you get back to the index of that day, if you click the left/right 1/3 of the picture you get to the previous or next picture.
Some days have more than one page (the page can be selected from the index of the day - dropdown box on the top left)

That's actually the Tunnel entrance to the University I used to go to. The university is behind a tall mountain, so they dug a tunnel through it for students to use. I remember the days when it was first openend and you needed to pay NT$10 (~US$0.25) or some other amount to walk through :)

They are cyno-bacteria that use sunlight to produce oxygen, they are said to have remained relatively unchange over 3.5 billion years, on a calm day you can see oxyegm bubbling off them.

They are said to be responsible for our oxygen atomosphere, I for one enjoyed a beer in there honour at the above location, All hail our dimutive mono celluar benefactors
